I got to see my parents and sister today.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">My sister goes to Purdue (mostly; she has an internship with Delta Faucets), so I\u2019m able to see her every now and then. My parents, however, still live in Oregon, and as such I don\u2019t really get a chance to see them. I have Skype and a phone, but it\u2019s not the same; nothing really compares to actually getting a chance to talk to someone face to face, and get hugs. One can never forget the power of hugs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_458\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-458\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/class2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/11\/wabash-family.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-458\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/class2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/11\/wabash-family-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/class2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/11\/wabash-family-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/class2017\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/11\/wabash-family.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-458\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Great picture, isn&#8217;t it?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anyway, they did show up yesterday, but I had some things that I needed to attend to, as did they. Once those were dealt with, we went out to Steak &amp; Shake for&#8230; well, shakes. And fries. And burgers (well, I was the one who ordered the burger). We talked a lot; about my experiences here, their time back home, stuff like that. And that made me really happy, just getting a chance to sit down and talk with my parents.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I met up with them at the football game (well, the first half; we left around halftime), and after that we just spent some time together; haircuts, Walmart stuff, and then dinner at Johnny P\u2019s. Nothing too fancy (then again, how fancy can you \u00a0get in Crawfordsville&#8230; that\u2019s opinion based), but I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. It\u2019s not so much the food and actions that matter, but that I got to see my parents again. And I\u2019m looking forward to seeing them again as soon as I am able.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a good day. I got to see my parents and sister today.
