{"id":760,"date":"2009-01-06T12:53:18","date_gmt":"2009-01-06T12:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/2009\/01\/06\/we-lost-pat-johnson\/"},"modified":"2009-01-06T12:53:18","modified_gmt":"2009-01-06T12:53:18","slug":"we-lost-pat-johnson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/2009\/01\/06\/we-lost-pat-johnson\/","title":{"rendered":"We Lost Pat Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/www2images\/Pat%20johnson.jpg\" \/>Last April, Wabash College celebrated the retirement of a legendary figure at the College &#8211; one each <strong>&#8220;Johnson, Robert H.&#8221;<\/strong> Coach Johnson stepped down after a superb career coaching our runners and even more importantly teaching them to be men.<\/p>\n<p>For many of those years, his wife Pat was by his side &#8211; her influence every bit as far-reaching as &#8220;Coach&#8221;. Their children grew up with a big playground called Wabash College. They roamed as freely through the Arboretum as many of Rob&#8217;s cross country runners.<\/p>\n<p>We received word yesterday that Pat had passed away after a long, courageous fight with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig&#8217;s disease.
