{"id":5199,"date":"2012-11-14T15:16:06","date_gmt":"2012-11-14T20:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/?p=5199"},"modified":"2012-11-14T15:16:06","modified_gmt":"2012-11-14T20:16:06","slug":"ryan-feeback-05-diplomat-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/2012\/11\/14\/ryan-feeback-05-diplomat-in-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Feeback \u201905 &#8211; diplomat in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Indiana native <strong>Ryan Feeback \u201905<\/strong> has been living and working in Nigeria since August, a long way from his Bluffton, IN hometown.<\/p>\n<p>After Wabash graduation, Ryan earned a master\u2019s degree in social work at Columbia University.\u00a0 From there he moved up to management level in the Department of Veterans Affairs after working as an inpatient psychiatric social worker. \u00a0In spring, 2012, he went through a rigorous State Department hiring process to become a diplomat.\u00a0 His first diplomatic assignment in August took him to Nigeria, where he adjudicates visas for entry into the United States, and cares for U. S. citizens who are overseas.\u00a0 He is married and has a baby who was born just last spring.\u00a0 Ryan will be on this assignment for two years and then return to the U.S. to await his next overseas assignment &#8212; wherever that may be in the world, it will still be a long way from Bluffton!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indiana native Ryan Feeback \u201905 has been living and working in Nigeria since August, a long way from his Bluffton, IN hometown.
