Patton, Jr. &#8217;84, an attorney <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2012\/03\/George_Patton.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4282\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2012\/03\/George_Patton.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"143\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a>at Bose McKinney &amp; Evans LLP\u00a0in Washington, DC, recently visited a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wabash.edu\/news\/docs\/NEWS RELEASE_Bose McKinney Evans_Patton Joins Harvard Law Reading Group.pdf\">Harvard Law School reading group <\/a>that is studying \u201cJudicial Independence, Judicial Ethics and the First Amendment.\u201d He was invited to lead a discussion about the aftermath of the case, Republican Party of Minnesota vs. White, 536 U.S. 765 (2002).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Students in the reading group, taught by former Massachusetts Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall, are examining the origins of judicial elections in the United States, and tensions that have arisen between the First Amendment and canons of judicial ethics in the wake of three cases: White as well as Citizen&#8217;s United v. FEC, 558 U.S. 50 (2010) and Caperton v. A.T. Massey Coal, 556 U.S. 868 (2009).<\/p>\n<p>George was a History major at Wabash and studied at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.\u00a0 He is a graduate of Indiana University Mauer School of Law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>George T.
