{"id":2810,"date":"2011-06-24T07:00:11","date_gmt":"2011-06-24T11:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/?p=2810"},"modified":"2011-06-24T07:00:11","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T11:00:11","slug":"george-patton-84-to-moderate-legal-panel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/2011\/06\/24\/george-patton-84-to-moderate-legal-panel\/","title":{"rendered":"George Patton &#039;84 to Moderate Legal Panel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/06\/Patton-George.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2812\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/06\/Patton-George-239x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a>George Patton&#8217;84 will moderate a panel discussion, \u201cLitigation Strategy: Do Judicial Elections Warrant Different Treatment?\u201d during the <em>Justice at Stake <\/em>meeting today. \u00a0He was selected as a result of his work at the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Courts of Appeals dealing with judicial canon cases.\u00a0 <em>Justice at Stake <\/em>is a nonpartisan group with 50+ national partners, working to keep state and federal courts fair and impartial, to educate the public, and\u00a0for reforms to keep politics and special interests out of the courtroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>George is a partner in the Litigation Group and former chair of the Appellate Group at Bose McKinney &amp; Evans. While practicing law, he taught Appellate Advocacy and Procedure at Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, wrote a book on Appellate Procedure published by West Group, authored a chapter in a book of appellate briefs, and published several articles on Indian appellate procedure. While at Wabash he\u00a0attended the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He received his law degree from Indiana University Mauer School of Law-Bloomington. He is a member of the American, Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations as well as a board member of the USA Development Trust, University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He also is included in Washington, D.C.
