Bachmann, Wabash 1960<\/strong>, longtime friend of the school, at its <a href=\"http:\/\/mooreschool.sc.edu\/alumni\/alumniresources\/distinguishedalumniserviceawards\/2011distinguishedawardwinners.aspx\">2011 Business Leadership Dinner and Awards<\/a> Program on May 12.\u00a0\ufffd<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/05\/2011_Bachmann_John_w.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2626\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/05\/2011_Bachmann_John_w.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 John has worked\u00a0at Edward Jones since 1959 in\u00a0retail investment, product marketing, strategic planning, corporate finance and technology and is currently senior\u00a0partner.\u00a0\u00a0He is a former chairman of the Securities Association and chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and\u00a0was the Moore School&#8217;s first distinguished executive in residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He earned\u00a0his bachelor\u2019s degree in economics from Wabash College and a MBA in finance from Northwestern University, and\u00a0received honorary doctoral degrees from Wabash College and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leadership\u00a0in professional and community organizations includes chairman of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association,\u00a0St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and commissioner of the St. Louis Science Center. He is an emeritus trustee of Wabash College; chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Peter F.
