Bowen School of Law\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.ualr.edu\/news\/showstory.asp?NID=196\">Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Tournament<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2459\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2459\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/04\/James-Scurlock1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2459\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/alumni\/files\/2011\/04\/James-Scurlock1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2459\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Overall champion James Scurlock (second from left) at the 2010 Bowen School of Law Moot Court. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This\u00a0spring at\u00a0the\u00a0New York Law\u00a0School\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyls.edu\/academics\/jd_programs\/moot_court\/robert_f_wagner_national_labor_and_employment_law_moot_court_competition\/\">35th Annual Robert F. Wagner Labor and Employment Law Competition <\/a>in New York City, James placed fourth overall in individual standings out of more than 100 participants (last year,\u00a0he placed\u00a0second\u00a0in individual advocacy awards in the preliminary rounds at Wagner).\u00a0 His Bowen Law School team earned best Preliminary Round Team and \u00a0Second Best Respondent Brief.<\/p>\n<p>The Wagner Competition is the largest student-led moot court competition in the United States, attracting teams from the entire country. Nationally, Wagner is the premier moot court competition dedicated exclusively to the areas of labor and employment law.<\/p>\n<p>James is\u00a0originally from Gallatin, Texas, and\u00a0was active in Legalis, Pre-Law Society, Student Senate, Theater and Radio, and Board of Publications, among others while a student at Wabash. He now resides in Little Rock where he plans to practice in the areas of employment and civil rights law.<\/p>\n<p><em>Photo courtesy of William H.
