Simran Sandhu \u201920, with his co-founder, recently sold Our Future to Morning Brew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Future is a digital media startup that produces short-form business video content and helps large companies thrive on emerging platforms, according to a news release<\/a>. Earlier this year, Morning Brew signaled its ambitions to expand product offerings through M&A. Our Future is one of several new media franchises the company has brought under its wing in recent months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting the brand as a podcast during the pandemic in 2020, Our Future Co-Founder Sikand first connected with Morning Brew CEO Austin Rief as a business student at their alma mater, University of Michigan.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since pivoting to short-form in 2021, Our Future has accumulated 1B views and a following of 1M people targeting Gen Z across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a sub-brand of Morning Brew, Our Future will expand its short-form video series and develop a broader portfolio of IP with long-form video and podcasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis deal is significant because we are one of the first TikTok media companies to be acquired,\u201d Sikand said. \u201cWe are obsessed with this medium but aware of the challenges in platform dependence. Our Future\u2019s vast reach combined with Morning Brew\u2019s owned email audience will create incredible synergies\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Morning Brew, Our Future will also look to scale its agency services, which have helped companies like HubSpot and StartEngine reach millions of people on social media. Sandhu leads Our Future\u2019s client-facing work and started that business line to diversify revenue outside of advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe media landscape is evolving and we believe the future is turning non-media companies into media companies,\u201d Sandhu said. \u201cAt Morning Brew, we get the best of both worlds: continuing to build equity in the Our Future brand and scaling our ability to help big companies build their presence on emerging platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
