{"id":11382,"date":"2022-09-01T12:55:43","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T16:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/?p=11382"},"modified":"2024-02-02T10:59:16","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T15:59:16","slug":"eaton-97-inducted-into-greenfield-centrals-alumni-hall-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/2022\/09\/01\/eaton-97-inducted-into-greenfield-centrals-alumni-hall-of-fame\/","title":{"rendered":"Eaton \u201997 inducted into Greenfield Central\u2019s Alumni Hall of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2022\/09\/brent-eaton-hancock-county-prosecutor.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/alumninews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2022\/09\/brent-eaton-hancock-county-prosecutor.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11383\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Brent Eaton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Brent Eaton \u201997 will be inducted into the Greenfield Central School Foundation\u2019s Alumni Hall of Fame later this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year the foundation honors a select group of past graduates who have made exemplary lives for themselves since high school, according to a report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenfieldreporter.com\/2022\/08\/17\/hall-of-fame-g-c-school-foundation-honors-distinguished-alumni\/\">the Daily Reporter<\/a>. &nbsp;Eaton, along with the three others, will be inducted at the school foundation\u2019s annual Red Letter Gala on Sept. 24 at Adaggios Banquet Hall in Greenfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eaton has served as Hancock County\u2019s prosecutor since 2015, and won this year\u2019s Republican primary to run again this fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was nominated for the Hall of Fame by Marie Castetter, who worked with him as Hancock County\u2019s chief deputy prosecutor from 2015 to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her nomination form, Castetter said she\u2019s seen Eaton\u2019s commitment to the Greenfield community first hand, and thinks he\u2019s worthy of the recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBrent serves the community daily in keeping Hancock County safe,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eaton was named \u201cCrime Fighter of the Year\u201d by the Cumberland Police Department in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also been recognized for his work in combating substance abuse in Hancock County by Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse (NASA) and for his work in prosecuting impaired driving by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe diligently works with individuals who are fighting addiction through Hancock County Drug Court and Heroin Protocol Program,\u201d said Castetter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from Greenfield-Central High School in 1993, Eaton earned an undergraduate degree at Wabash College and a law degree at the Indiana University-Indianapolis School of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While at Wabash, Eaton majored in history with a specialization in business.
