The Times of Noblesville recently named 23-year-old Joe LaRue \u201921 its new managing editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe LaRue sat down with The Times columnist Betsy Reason to discuss his interest in journalism and his goals for the newspaper. You can read the full column here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaRue previously worked at The Paper of Montgomery County, owned by Sagamore News Media, parent company of The Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s how I met Tim Timmons, our publisher, and also a big part of how I likely got this job,\u201d LaRue said. \u201cNews has always been my No. 1 interest. I love being able to speak knowledgeably and at length about current events, so I\u2019ve been a newshound since I was in high school (writing for his school magazine) and that\u2019s always dominated my time and attention.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaRue said his duties at The Times include assembling and publishing each day the paper each day, and working alongside its publisher to \u201cdiversify content and grow The Times\u2019 presence in Hamilton County.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While at Wabash, LaRue double majored in English and Rhetoric. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Student Senate and the lacrosse team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
