The work he accomplished during his service to INL have impacted decisions made at the highest echelons of U.S. national security organizations, including White House briefings for the president, according to the story. His work as the chief science officer for National &amp; Homeland Security at INL guided development of the country\u2019s top security research talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But he described his role with a healthy dose of humility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI used to tell people \u2018I am never going to be an Einstein,\u2019\u201d Hartenstein said in the story. \u201cI want to help the next Einstein be the Einstein.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastidahonews.com\/2021\/11\/from-a-small-town-to-a-national-impact-the-journey-inls-chief-science-officer-took-to-leading-national-security-research\/\">You can read the full feature story here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While at Wabash, Hartenstein majored in chemistry and minored in mathematics.
