Parnell Distinguished Faculty Recognition from the American Association of Community Colleges. This national award recognizes individuals who make a difference in the classroom by demonstrating passion, showing a willingness to support students inside and outside of the classroom, participating in college committees and going above and beyond what is required to ensure student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Dow was named the 2018 Illinois Community\nCollege Trustees Association Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Award winner and was\nthe Illinois nominee for the Association of Community College Trustees Regional\naward. In addition, in 2018, he received a League Excellence Award from the\nLeague for Innovation in the Community College and was named Professor of the\nYear at Moraine Valley Community College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He\nreceived his Master\u2019s degree in English from Loyola University Chicago in 1996\nand earned a Ph.D. in English from Loyola University Chicago in 2006. He is a\nprofessor of English and Department Chair of Communications, Literature and\nLanguages at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Thomas Dow, a 1989 graduate of Wabash College, has received a 2019 Dale P.
