Dr. Robert M. Dirks PhD ’00 tragically lost his life in the Metro-North train crash in New York in February 2015.  Last week, the International Society of Nanoscale Science Computations and Engineering (ISNSCE) announced the creation of The Robert Dirks Molecular Programming Prize as an early career award which will recognize exceptional early-career achievement by a researcher working in any area of molecular programming.  Nominations will be accepted for the first time in early 2016.

“Brilliant, creative, generous, humble, and kind, Robert was a model scientist and collaborator. Members of the ISNSCE research community will honor Robert’s memory by awarding the Dirks Prize to an inspiring member of the next generation of molecular programmers.”
