David Pippen '91 to serve on Indiana Law Review Symposium panel

David Pippen ’91, partner and chairman of the Environmental Law Group of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, has been selected to participate in the Indiana Law Review Symposium, “Reflecting on 40 Years of Merit Selection.” He will serve as one of four panelists on Thursday, April 5, at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

The symposium will address the merit selection of appellate judges in Indiana throughout the last 40 years. Marion Superior Court Judge Tim Oakes ’86 will moderate the panel discussion, “Should Indiana Merit Selection Be Trumpeted, Tweaked, or Trashed?” and will seek advice from former governors’ counsels, including David.

As former general counsel and senior policy director for Gov. Mitch Daniels, Pippen has served as the chair of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, and the liaison to the Indiana Supreme Court. He also served as the liaison to numerous state and government agencies including the Department of Environmental Management, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Agriculture.

He currently represents clients in the areas of environmental law, administrative law and general representation before state and federal agencies. He also is a member of the firm’s Utilities Group where he concentrates his practice in the areas of energy and water issues.

After Wabash, David earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. In addition to volunteering with local civic organizations, he serves as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Indiana Guard Reserve, an all-volunteer component of the Indiana National Guard.

Triton sponsors Indiana Triathlon

Indianapolis’ Triton Brewing Company ( has been mentioned recently in the alumni blogs.  Still more news:  Triton will sponsor an eight-race triathlon Indiana Triathlon Series this summer, organized by Muncie Multi-Sport Inc. (MMS).  The courses will be in Indianapolis, Richmond, Muncie and New Castle.  There are lots of fun plans throughout the next few months, and there will even be a new specially brewed new “tri” beer served at events and at the brewery!

Triton Brewing Company at "TAP at TAF"

On April 28, “TAP at TAF: A Craft Brew Fest” will feature 10 Indiana breweries, including Triton Brewing Company.  The event will be held on the grounds of the Tippecanoe Arts Federation in downtown Lafayette, IN. Click here for information and to purchase tickets. 

David Waldman ’93 is Operations Director and Co-Founder of Triton, which was recently listed among the few children-friendly pub-type venues in Indianapolis – “smoke-free, family-oriented, and dog-friendly.”  Triton makes itself kid-friendly by offering root beer and root beer floats for kids when they visit with the brewery with their parents.
