Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded $2.5 million to the Indiana University Center for Global Health. The funding will go to bolster programming and establish an endowed chair for the center’s initiatives in Kenya. Click here to read more about the gift and the Center.
Dr. Robert M. Einterz ’77 is associate dean for global health at the IU School of Medicine and director of the IU Center for Global Health. Last August, Bob was featured in an alumni relations blog when he was named the first Donald E. Brown Professor in Global Health at the Center.
Dr. Daniel E. Kraft ’85 was recently named a finalist in the Indiana Business Journal’s Advancement in Healthcare category of 2012 Healthcare Heroes.
Dr. Kraft, Director of Riley Hospital for Children Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, worked with state legislators and another physician to pass a law that protects student-athletes. Indiana’s “concussion law” bill will take effect on July 1, 2012. Click here to read more. Congratulations!

Kelly Pfledderer ’96 has been named president of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation executive board. The IPF’s mission is to enhance the recreational, educational and cultural life of the Indianapolis community by encouraging and soliciting support for the Indianapolis parks system.
Kelly is the founder and CEO of Apparatus, an application hosting and infrastructure services firm in Indianapolis. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Wabash College, has been board chairman for the Indianapolis PAL Club, and is past chairman of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation Board of Trustees.
