Back In The Good Old Days

Back in the Good Old Days, the pet of choice at Wabash would most certainly have been a dog. Professors had them, students had them, and the dogs attended class (and I think understood Calculus much more than this poor, dumb fighter pilot!)

Now, things might be just a little different as evidenced by this Wally’s pet photographed at last week’s TGIF. No, it isn’t fake. And, if you look closely, you’ll notice a set of fangs. My lens of choice would have been a 600MM one – allowing me to take this picture from Brownsburg – but I don’t have one.†

I wonder what this young man’s major is?

Soccer vs. DePauw Draws Crowd

We had a great fan support, helped a little by TGIF, Friday afternoon for the start of the soccer season against DePauw. The weather was great, the crowd was supportive and everything, except for the soccer match, went well.

As the picture shows, DePauw controlled the ball for most of the match and had many more shots on goal, and as it often works, more shots means a higher score. Hopefully, this was just a bad start to an otherwise good season. I think Coach Giannini has the program headed in the right direction.
