Associate Professor of Spanish Jane Hardy’s recent research has studied the effects of the Extensive Reading (ER) approach to second language acquisition, and she presented “Student Created Reading Materials in University Spanish Courses” at the Third Extensive Reading World Congress in Dubai in September 2015.

In November she was a keynote speaker at the symposium Extensive Reading: Empowering Autonomous Learners at Notre Dame University.

Later in November she presented “Student Authors Writing for Student Readers: A Project in College Spanish” at the annual conference of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in San Diego.
