syud ahmed 2007Syud M. Ahmed ’07 is a Senior Scientist at 3M, located in St. Paul, Minnesota.  After earning a doctorate degree, Syud joined 3M as a Senior Scientist to develop products related to 3M’s Safety and Graphics Business.

Syud was a Chemistry major at Wabash.  As a student, he was awarded a Dill Summer Internship which allowed him to work with Dr. Robert Hamers’ Material Sciences program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2006. In 2012 he earned his PhD at Cornell University in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.  Click here to read more about Syud.

Syud’s talents extend beyond the lab to the musical stage. As a child, he learned to play the tabla, an instrument native to Bangladesh.  He was active in the Wamidan World Music Ensemble at Wabash, and continues to play the tabla in his spare time today.
