In just one day this week, Congressman Todd Rokita ’92 met with employer and individual constituents in the greater Lafayette area to discuss employment, economic growth, and the future of both by day, and then met with fellow Republicans that evening.

First, Todd visited a medical device company in the Purdue Research Park, focusing on concerns that the medical device excise tax, which is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2013, will make the entire medical device industry less competitive.  After plant tours at other local businesses, Todd conducted a one-hour “Congress on Your Corner” session in West Lafayette, giving individuals the opportunity to address personal and business concerns, and later held an area town hall meeting.  That evening, he emceed the Tippecanoe County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.  Whew!

In Washington, he sits on the House Steering Committee, is a Member of the House Budget Committee, and serves on the House Education and Workforce Committee.  He served as Indiana’s Secretary of State for two terms from 2002-2010.

Representative Rokita will run unopposed in the Indiana Republican primary for Indiana 4th Congressional District on May 8.
