Mike Munday ’11, his parents Michael and Rachel Witt, and Mike’s siblings were recently named the Lafayette, Indiana YMCA Volunteer Family of the Year. The Lafayette YMCA is a big operation, serving more than 5,000 people in the community.

Don Franklin, the director of the Lafayette YMCA, says volunteers are critical to their success. “The Witts are a model YMCA family,” Franklin said. “The children take swimming lessons, karate lessons and gymnastics. Their family helps at camp workdays, races and other YMCA special events.”

Michael, a proud father, noted that Mike’s efforts were a big part of their family winning the award.

This family speaks to our mission in action: “Educate young men to think critically, act responsibly, lead effectively, and live humanely.”
